Healing, dps are the two main focuses to pvp. Having alot of dmg negation and little dps is going to be the problem. Ret has been improved alot. The spell dmg change is also going to take in a effect for old gear. Prot tree has a new talent with 3 points 30% of stam=Spell dmg. My set currently in the beta is t4-kara-za roughly close to 400 spell dmg. WIth the new talents i have 630 spell dmg. honestly i do not see a reason to go prot for bgs. Maybe ret is more OP but I held my own very nicely as prot in bgs with bad gear.
